In this second session of Behold a White Horse, Bible teacher Chuck Missler takes us deeper into one of the most important end-time prophecies in the Bible. And heads up—this isn’t your typical Sunday school lesson.
We’re talking about the rider on the white horse in Revelation 6. Most people assume that’s Jesus. But according to Missler, that’s a big mistake.
So Who Is the Rider on the White Horse?
-
It’s not Jesus—it’s the Antichrist
-
He comes pretending to bring peace, but he’s a deceiver
-
He rises to power quietly, not through war—but through a false peace deal
And here’s the kicker: he won’t be revealed until the Church is taken out of the way.
What Daniel’s 70 Weeks Prophecy Tells Us
Chuck Missler points to Daniel 9 as the foundation for all end-time prophecy. Here’s a simple breakdown:
-
69 weeks of prophetic years (that’s 483 years) pointed exactly to the day Jesus entered Jerusalem.
-
Israel missed it, and judgment followed with the destruction of the temple in 70 AD.
-
But there’s still one week left—the final 7 years we call the Tribulation.
There’s a gap between the 69th and 70th week. That “gap” is where we are right now. It’s called the Church Age—and it ends with the rapture (what the Bible calls the Harpazo).
What the Antichrist Will Do
Once the Church is out of the picture, this false leader will:
-
Enforce a peace treaty with Israel (not just sign it—he’ll make it stick)
-
Break that treaty halfway through (after 3½ years)
-
Stop temple sacrifices and commit the abomination of desolation
-
Demand worship and act like he is God
This kicks off the Great Tribulation—a time Jesus said would be worse than anything the world has ever seen.
The Antichrist Has a Lot of Names
The Bible gives him many titles, including:
-
Man of sin
-
Lawless one
-
Beast
-
Willful king
-
Seed of the serpent
-
Idol shepherd
And here’s something strange—he might have a head wound that heals, which causes the world to follow him (Revelation 13). That will be one of the biggest clues to who he really is.
One More Thing—He Won’t Be Alone
Revelation talks about two beasts:
-
The first is the Antichrist—a political and military leader.
-
The second is the False Prophet—a religious figure who helps people worship the first beast.
This second beast performs miracles and even calls down fire from heaven. Don’t be fooled—these signs aren’t from God.
How Close Are We?
Missler believes the Antichrist is already alive—but he can’t make his move until the rapture happens. Once that event takes place, all bets are off.
But until then?
We’re not meant to fear—just be ready.
