4 Things About Heaven In The Book of Revelation – Greg Laurie

A lot of people wonder what heaven is actually like. Is it boring? Is it just floating on clouds forever? Pastor Greg Laurie says no—heaven will be better than we can imagine. In this message, he walks through Revelation 22 to show us a clearer picture. It’s not vague. It’s detailed, vivid, and honestly, kind of exciting. There’s life, purpose, joy—and even fruit trees. Yes, really.

Pastor Greg breaks down the four big things we learn about heaven in the Book of Revelation.

What to Know about Heaven in the Book of Revelation

1. Heaven Is a Place of Satisfaction

Revelation paints a picture of a place where we lack nothing. Pastor Greg points out that in verse 17, it says, “Let him who thirsts come… and take the water of life freely.” This isn’t just about physical thirst. It’s about deep needs. In heaven, every desire we’ve ever had—peace, love, meaning, connection—it’ll all be met.

There’s a river of life flowing from God’s throne, crystal clear. It shows us that everything comes from Him and brings total fulfillment. You’ll never be hungry for something more. You’ll never feel empty or restless again.

2. Heaven Is a Place of Sufficiency

Next, Pastor Greg gets a little playful here—talking about fruit. He explains that the “tree of life” shows up again in Revelation 22, bearing twelve kinds of fruit. Different fruits for different months. The leaves are for the healing of the nations.

He even jokes about his own fruit preferences (no kale in heaven, thankfully), but then makes a bigger point. The word used for “healing” is  therapeia—where we get the word “therapy.” This isn’t about treating disease. There’s no sickness in heaven. It’s about life-giving energy and well-being. Total wholeness.

The curse from Genesis—pain, sickness, aging, death—is gone. Pastor Greg gives us some eye-opening stats: three people die every second, over 11,000 every hour. But in heaven? Death doesn’t exist anymore. We won’t even talk about it.

3. Heaven Is a Place of Service

This one surprises a lot of people. You’d think heaven is just rest, right? Nope. Pastor Greg says yes, it’s rest—but also work. Fulfilling, creative, purpose-driven work.

Verse 3 says God’s servants “will serve Him.” Pastor Greg says artists, musicians, builders, creatives—everyone will have something to do. And it won’t feel like a chore. It’ll be exciting. You might even get to finish dreams or projects you didn’t get to complete here on Earth.

So heaven isn’t lazy. It’s alive. And you’ll be doing what you were made to do—with joy, not stress.

4. Heaven Is Where Tragedy Turns Into Triumph

Here’s where it gets really good. Pastor Greg says heaven is where everything broken gets restored. Pain turns to joy. Sadness turns to laughter. Disabilities, both mental and physical, disappear. Everything wrong is made right.

He says, “Heaven is a joyful place… a hopping place.” That’s not just feel-good talk. Psalm 16 says there’s “fullness of joy” in God’s presence. Luke 6 says, “You will laugh with joy.”

And Pastor Greg is clear: this joy isn’t fake. It’s real and overflowing. Heaven is where the biggest disappointments of your life finally make sense—or even become something beautiful. It’s where loss is reversed. And the celebration never ends.

Heaven is the Destination!

Pastor Greg wraps it up by reminding us that Revelation doesn’t just describe heaven—it shows us that believers win in the end. Not because we earned it. But because of Jesus.

Heaven isn’t a backup plan. It’s the destination. It’s everything you’ve ever longed for—and more.

So if you’ve been picturing heaven as a boring church service in the sky, think again. According to the Book of Revelation—and Pastor Greg—it’s full of life, laughter, creativity, healing, and joy that never ends!
