The Great Tribulation – Does the Tribulation Start Fall 2024?
In Christian eschatology, the Great Tribulation (Ancient Greek: θλῖψις μεγάλη, romanized: thlîpsis megálē) is a period mentioned by Jesus in the Olivet Discourse as a sign that would occur in the time of the end.[1] The question Christians are asking is “when will the tribulation begin?”
It is becoming increasingly apparent through mainstream news coverage that we stand at the edge of economic, political, and social upheaval. Banks, businesses, and supply chains are collapsing around us, accompanied by record inflation, stringent government mandates, political litigations, riots, mass shootings, and overall chaos. Faced with such challenges, what course of action should we take?
Did any of these developments catch God by surprise? Not at all. He foresaw these events 2000 years ago when He declared, “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled, for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows” (Matthew 24:6-8).
